Our History
Nordent was founded in 1969 by three master craftsmen who aspired to build a company focused on serving their customers and employees. Henry Woll, Heinz Krause, and Peter Martin left their stable positions with another leading instrument manufacturer to build their own business.
Long before ergonomics became a popular issue, Nordent recognized that by using a larger handle that allows for a better grip, clinicians would enjoy better adaptive control as well as experience reduced hand fatigue and extend their careers.
Nordent was the first instrument manufacturer to develop a series of hygiene instruments that combine the design characteristics of a scaler and a curette into one easier to use instrument. Using a Nordent Scalette will save time during the procedure, space on the tray and will reduce instrument replacement costs.
Nordent’s longstanding focus on quality improvement is recognized by the International Organization for Standardization.
Using a proprietary steel technology that is harder than any other instrument in the world, Nordent launches it’s flagship XDURA line of Hygiene Instruments. Like the Relyant line of hygiene instruments, each XDURA purchased comes with free lifetime sharpening service.
Nordent continues to invest in quality and process improvement and achieves ISO: 14385 (Medical Devices) certification.
For more than 55 years, Nordent has been providing innovative products and solutions, designed for real practitioners working in the real world. Our craftsmen take great pride in producing the finest instruments for you, right here in the USA.
